Goats at Ingalls Pass, Mountaineering in the North Cascades

Hanging with Ram's cousins on Ingalls Pass, then home. 3460 feet of altitude loss.

A fine hour for dinner - some quick food, then off to bed...

A few things flying, here and there.

We woke with the sun, rolled over and napped another couple-a hours...

... to awake to Goats! Our bivy spot was apparantly where the goats liked to hang out...

... many little kids with their moms. We got to observe the pecking order - lots of feint-fights.

They were apparently looking for salt and moisture. Ram provides.

This character was the boss Ram. Notice he has a tuft of fur on his horn - he was willing to push the feint-fights a little further than the others.

Young Ram goes off to find the loo. Goats follow.

Thanks to digital, I took about 40 pictures of the goats, but they never seemed to like to pose for ME....

Bucky got the best shot, I think...

Top of yesterday's mountain.

Eventually, we packed up and started the short hike down, back to the car.

Obligatory picture of Rainier.

Then we drove home, or rather, Bucky drove home while I napped and read. Thanks Buck. We dozed somewhere in Idaho, then home.

All in all, a wonderful trip. Testing of the fitness, though, an awful lot of UPHILL. Thanks Aaron, Ram, Bucky - good adventures with good partners.
