Li'l Bull
Robber's Roost

Hoping to save the best for last, Eric and I intentionally left Chambers for our final afternoon. My hope was that by around 2 or 3, the sun would move into a favorable angle, and we'd get some good light in the chamber.

Well, that plan would work well enough, we just needed something for the morning. There are a couple of options nearby, one of which Kelsey calls "Li'l Bull." Why he calls it this, I'm not sure. It is nowhere near the drainage he named Bull, and it is actually a smaller fork of the White Roost canyon. So I'm kinda surprised it isn't the Littler Little White Roost.

Regardless, the write up sounded interesting enough. Quick approach, at least one interesting narrows, no exit rappels, and a quick exit. Good way to kill 3 hours in the morning.

The canyon really doesn't have much going for it, until about 10 minutes in, when the bottom absolutely drops out. At this point, there is a decent chock stone to rig a rope to, and rappel down what is actually two drops, both about 60 feet long. The drop plunges straight into darkness. Headlamps were very nice to have down there.

I dare say that the whole drop is probably the biggest baddest elevator I have ever seen. I'm fairly confident it could be downclimbed without a rope. I wouldn't do it. Nor would I want to do it. Nor did Eric particularly want to. But I'm certain someone could do it. It would take some nerves of steel, but I actually think the moves might be easy (especially with another set of eyes below to help avoide the bombays. It is just so HIGH. Cool spot though.

And that is pretty much the whole highlight of the canyon. One big two stage rap in a nice tight spot, then 20 minutes of sideways-slanty-not-very-interesting slot. Right before the last huge rappel down into White Roost, there is a nice exit up the slickrock bowl, back around to pick up our rope, and we were back to our car by 11 am.
